Hi all !
I have to set up a HP 6300c scanner. My employer do not want to pay extra
50 $ for xvscan. So I installed sane on his machine from rpm and after
resolving the dependencies installed xsane. But when I want to start the
xsane it says that it doesn't find any devices. The cat /proc/scsi/scsi
says there is the HP. So I looked into the /etc/sane.d/hp.conf and found
that it looks for the /dev/scanner. So, I added the symbolic link
/dev/scanner to the /dev/sgc (the scanner is on the only one initio scsi
card and its ID is 2). The other line is SCSI hp (the default). Maybe I
have to copy it into an other file ? If there is an RTFM or other
step-by/step guide I will be happy if you redirect me there.
Thanks,
Ago
