I'm using atm modules and such for the 2.2.9 kernel so i don't want to get a newer kernel, any recommendations for a nice cheap SVGA card that will work with 2.2.9? i don't want to do anything fancy with it, just run X.

Er. You need a very modern kernel, with the agpgart module, and a 3.3.6
X server.
Seeing as you are using slackware, I'll assume you are an expert, and
can
work out where to get & install those...
