The CRON Daemon is the daemon (a little program that sits in the background
basically) and runs cron.

Cron is the facility for automating tasks, so the cron daemon reads crontab
files and then runs the programs as and when they are required, and who
they are required to be run

Sorry if that's not very clear, my only caffeine today has been one Penguin
Mint so far...
