[ILUG] ftape

Recently installed Linux-Mandrake7.1 and also never used ftape before. Now I have a HP ColorodoT3000 internal on the FDD which I plugged in. Nothing works unless I type modprobe ftape and then modprobe zftape. I dont have ftape-internal.o module. Without a tape in drive I get return status using "ftmt -f /dev/nqft0 status" that it is a ColoradoT3000 etc,etc. With a tape in drive I get nothing until I ctrl-c then I get "device not configured." Can anyone tell me what to do?
