Sounds good, looks like I'm getting closer, however all of the files on
Dell's site are in RPM format. Kinda hard to install drivers when the OS
isn't installed yet. I'm still looking for a handy install disk from Dell,
but no avail. I suppose I could try to make an install disk, but that is a
pain.

You should in general use "modprobe" to load modules rather than
"insmod", to make sure that any dependent modules are loaded first.

Plausible, I guess. Not sure how to achieve it - do you have a system
which boots from the hard drive, or from floppy, or what?
You should load modules in this order:
scsi_mod - base SCSI utilities
megaraid - PERC/Si
aic7xxx - onboard SCSI
sd_mod - SCSI disks
sr_mod - SCSI CD-ROMS
... hope this helps.
See also http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/index.asp (search for
'PERC2 Linux' in the 'by description' box) for Dell's own drivers for
their PERC cards.
