[ILUG] informix user connect problem

Every time I make a connection to a database in dbaccess, I will be
prompted for a uesr name and password if I didn't login as informix.
This is OK. So I put in an unix username and password ( granted
connection privledge), but dbaccess always says incorrect password.
what happened? does informix keeps it's own user database? please
help
