[ILUG] Stuff on wierd disks...

I have an Irix installation on a disk in my machine. The disk is there:

 cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: IBM Model: DORS- Rev: WA0A
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
  Vendor: SONY Model: CD-R CDU928E Rev: 1.1e
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02

However, I've no idea how to access it - I wanna hexedit the disk.
I'm getting:

minbar [0] hexeditor /dev/sda
 /dev/sda: Device not configured
minbar [0] hexeditor /dev/sdb
 /dev/sdb: Device not configured
minbar [0] hexeditor /dev/sdc
 /dev/sdc: Device not configured

What drive should I be going for ? I assume Linux doesn't read Irix
filesystems or partition tables...
