I don't believe so.
If it did, then I'd expect a huge problem with the legalities of using
Mozilla for viewing html files generated by folks with M$ Frontpage and
of using StarOffice to read M$ Word files.
I think the GPL is more about the distribution of the application/program
and how people are entitled to the source code for that application rather
than how that application interacts with files that it imports which may
have been generated by closed source applications.
