[ILUG] ftpd setup... How?

Trying to set up an ftp server on an RH6.2 box. I want to use this to serve
the RH install to an old 486 with no CDROM. I'm getting to the bit where it
tries to login for the ftp bit and getting the login rejected. Tried
anonymous login from another box and got rejected also. RH installer is trying
to do an anonymous login itself.

I'm not really interested (well, haven't time just now) in running an ftp server
 at present but I'd like to get it working for this install.

Tried creating the user "anonymous" with no password but still no help.

Config files I've found are

/etc/ftpaccess
     ftpusers
     ftpconversions
     ftphosts
     ftpgroups

using wu-ftpd-2.6.0-3 according to rpm -q

/etc/ftpaccess contains the following line (among others that don't appear to
relate);
class all real,guest,anonymous *

/etc/ftpusers contains;

root
bin
daemon
adm
lp
sync
shutdown
halt
mail
news
uucp
operator
games
nobody
anonymous #added by me

/etc/ftpconversions has rules for treating different file extensions and
ftpgroups and ftphosts are all comments and no active data.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
