really stupid suggestion, can you get the APC software to run an expect script
when it tells the NT box to shutdown (apart from the fact that the APC software
is crap... it tells the NT box to shutdown, and janks the power <timeout> later,
without checking if the machine is ready yet... or at least in our case it does),
and the expect script tells the linux box to shutdown?
