I got my Kppp to work properly a couple of weeks ago, after I had asked a
lot of questions on this mailing list. Everything worked fine until
yesterday when I tried to connect to my ISP. I am using Esatclear "Surf no
Limits".
As soon as I got as far as logging on to the server, I got an error
message: "The pppd daemon died unexpectedly."
When I click on details I get the following: "The remote system is required
to authenticate itself, but I could'nt find any secret (password) which
would let it use an IP address".
I am hoping that the problem is at the server end. I was unable to check my
e-mail at night for a couple of weeks recently and the problem was at their
end. The server kept rejecting the password. I hope that this is something
similar but I can connect fine using the same modem and Windows98.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem?
Eugene O'Leary.
