I'm running a dual PPro box with Adaptec 1542 and 2940 SCSI cards. My
Windows boot drive is on the 1542, with all other drives, including one for
Linux, on the 2940. I've installed Red Hat 5.2 and copied the boot sector
to the C: drive as per the "NT How-To".
Everything works fine off a boot floppy, but if I try to use LILO, the
machine gets to "LI" and then freezes. I presume this is to do with drive
ordering, since the Red Hat installer finds the 2940 card first, and lables
its drives sda/b/c and then the boot drive as sdd.
Is there any way to force Red Hat to treat the 1542 card as boot, or would
I have an easier time with a different variety of Linux?
