Hi all -
I installed (read: didn't upgrade) the above 2 nights ago, and was quite
impressed by a lot of things, one of the main being the ease-of-use (in
particular letting you continually tweak the xserver config during
setup).
but I came across a few problems. The first, and most important is the
internet setup....<gach!>
I copied over the old dialup scripts, changed the right stuff to ttyS2
etc and it all worked fine....
untill last night, that is when it wouldn't work at all - the error from
chat is something like "could not (connect?) to terminal - I/O error" -
anyone know what this means?
it was very annoying a 3 in the morning when I was tired and just wanted
to get my mail....
I also get plenty of scsi errors when i try /sbin/insmod ppa.o (to get
at my zip) - any known issues there?
I'd love to give the real errors, but I'm at work and the computer's
not.
Also, what's the story with the coloredy [ OK ] or [ FAILED ] messages
at startup? is that linuxconf?
What's the reasoning behind that? Do we need it? Do all dist's have it
now?
thanks,
tired rob
