The ILUG has now been registered with SSC's GLUE (Groups of Linux Users
Everywhere - http://www.ssc.com/glue/). This leads to a couple of
advantages for ILUG members:
Discount subscription rate to the Linux Journal
(US$59 for 2 years, US$37 for one year)
Likewise for the Perl Journal
(US$45 for 2 years, US$25 for 1 year)
Discount prices for the Linux Journal archive CDs.
Contact subs at domain ssc.com for subscription info - mention that you're
an ILUG member to qualify for the discount.
I've also got a few freebies which I'll be distributing at the next F2F
or big pub meet in Dublin - bumper stickers, 2.5cm front panel decals, a
few copies of the latest LJ and LJ "sampler" CDROMs. (I'm sending some
to the UL crowd so there'll be some there, too.)
There's also a copy of Red Hat Linux 5.2, Caldera Linux 1.3, "BRU2000"
backup software and a "Tcl/Tk" installation CD. These don't seem to be
particularly useful, so does anyone want them?
Finally, there's a set of Linux Journal archive CDs and a subscription
to LJ for the group. The former will be kept in Limerick and the latter
here in Trinity, and anyone who wants to borrow them can mail Caolan
(for the CDs) or me (for the mags). I'll put a note to this effect on
the web page as soon as I figure out how exactly I can arrange things.
