havn't they all been ported? i thought that apart from the weird
Alpha's like the UDB, that all relatively recent and normal video
cards should work in all relatively recent pci alpha's.
We also found the things like the Diamond Fire 1000 (Permedia)
didn't always work first time, until they had a bios flash.
diamond.. yuk. that would have been a problem with the firmware X86
emulation. when you say bios flash do you mean the video card bios or
the alpha firmware? Nobody can fubar PCI like diamond can.
Moral of the story, check the Redhat Video card support carefully
before buying, the list is severely curtailed over the normal
XF86 stuff.
uhmm anything specific to steer clear of?
afaik permedia, glint mx/tx, mga, g{2,1}00, S3 trio64/virge are all
supported on all alpha by XFree86, not sure about TNT.
