I am in the _very_ same position. I occasionally forget to untick the
receipt box - Apologies. I have no desire to get a flood of receipt
messages.
I was actually surprised at the listserver doing this - forwarding mail
witht he receipt request. Is it something we can turn off at the list
server ? Could this be something that needs "fixing" in the list server
software ? :)

I don't think all list server software behaves like this (I could be wrong).

Personally I use exchange for work mail and have permanently enabled
receipts, it is good to know if somebody deletes your mail without reading
it or whatever. I have to remember to untick the receipt option when I send
mails to the list though....so apologies.

Tony.

Linux users being the suspicious, paranoid bunch (demographically
speaking) that they are, I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't like
returning receipts for emails. I see no reason for it, so unless someone
can come up with a compelling explanation, I'm sure I speak for... well,
myself when I say 'knock it off.'
