Perhaps this argument has been fought before (Ihave been out of the loop
for a time), but perhaps Opera (www.opera.com) would a be a recommendable
alt browser. The beta8 is pretty stable at this stage and is a helluvalot
faster than Mozilla both in loading and rendering. I recently had it
running on a P1 100MHz laptop w 8MB RAM in Debian (very slowly I'll grant
you).
Perhaps you don't want a big list of browsers but to my mind, when they
finish it (ie get java + plugins working) it'll be the best graphically
capable browser available for linux (not to mention OS/2, BeOS, Mac,
EPOC....). It's very much a matter of opinion on Win32 as IE and Netscape
are better there.
The other issue I guess is it's not gnu or even open source. It is free
to use (in the "AdWare" sense) though.
