The comment was from some guy called Dillon who worked for Microsoft.
Basically I think he was just clueless as he seemed to be just a
business head. Therefore he was just waffling on to clueless technology
journalists (yes I know it is a tautology) and they took the quote
verbatim because they did not know any different.
