generally is okay.. best if you have a good understanding of how it works,
otherwise it can get quite confusing..

and 2.4 and 2.2 call the pcmcia drivers different things :)

you need the kernel source on the machine to make David Hinds' stuff build.

couldn't tell you for definite, depends on the model of the card, but
