root isn't mounted (stupid thing to say :))

(08:06 is /dev/sda6 according to devices.txt)

probably because the aic-7xxx module isn't loaded. if you're trying to
boot from a SCSI drive, the scsi device drivers need to be compiled in,
or put in an initrd so they can be loaded from there.

RedHat have a mkinitrd thingy for putting the modules in the right place.
