Try statically compiling the aic7xx module, else you have to do the mkinird
thingy...

Thats whats causing your panique! Wan't mo info, I can send you my guide.
Still unfinished but works coz I've had good reports back.

I have compiled the aic-7xxx module, and done make modules, etc., etc.
The / is /dev/sda6, sorry, I can't remember the rest of the setup.
