I have a French modem that works here, and when we moved to France we used
an Irish one, or was it german? Can't remember, but it worked so I asked no
questions. And I know your not supposed to do that, for some bizarre reason.

They were both internal hardware modems by the way. ISA 28.8 / 33.6
