There is a Bash Prompt howto too, it goes into in depth detail on putting
all sorts of stuff in there

        saw a reference in one of the mails today, in the "don't ya just hate it
when..." thread.
        Someone mentioned changing the prompt to show machine/user etc, etc. Take a
