[ILUG] NFS problem ...

Hi,

I have a linux machine (SuSE 6.3, 2.2.16) and a Solaris 2.7, sparc machine.

There is a linux partition mounted on the solaris box. Sometimes, when a soft link is created on the partition, the link points nowhere when viewed on the solaris box, but is fine from the linux box, So, it looks like the differing versions of NFS are causing the problem. Is there a config file with timeout values for NFS? The problem happens intermittently, has anyone experienced it before?

ls -l on solaris box gives :-
lrwxrwxrwx 1 everling ism 58 Dec 7 15:17 ism

ls -l on linux box gives :-
lrwxrwxrwx 1 everling ism 58 Dec 7 15:17 ism -> /etc/conf/ism/users/everling/var/nis_accounts/ism/everling

cheers
E
