The NeoMagic 256 driver is also in the stock kernel now, so you
don't have to use Alsa. It works fine on my Dell Latitude CPiA
( although the the latest stable?? kernel 2.4.4 broke it, but
it's now fixed again in 2.4.5-preN ).
