In my experience, 'fraid so :( I've got that a few times from OOM
situations under 2.2.x.
BTW if you get stuck, can't get near the machine, and reboot/init 6 won't
work (this can happen when init gets confused by OOM!), use "reboot -f".
That'll work.
Make sure you sync and umount fs'es if you can beforehand, to avoid a
trip to City West for a manual fsck :(
(mental note: install a new colo box with Reiserfs next time)
