I am not aware of 75 ohm cable being an accepted physical medium. However,
Arcnet which runs on 93 ohm (RG 62), may work for you. The 2.5 megabit
variety of arcnet is very mature and robust, and you may be able to get it
to work on the 75 ohm cable. I have seen arcnet run over barbed wire and
even paper clips (both in a lab environment), so I do not see much of a
problem for it to run on 75 ohm coax.
The problem for you would be finding arcnet adapters. If you are doing just
two machines, this is not much of a problem. Self-termination became part
of the arcnet spec, and you should be able to go from card to card with the
coax. Depending on the cards, you may need some sort of arcnet hub. It may
just be easier to trash the 75 ohm cable, and build a proper ether net.
If you are determined to use the 75 ohm cable, there is plenty of
documentation on the web regarding arcnet. There is even a 100mbit spec for
arcnet, but I think it is only for twisted pair, not coax.
