My reading of the Oracle Linux developer license (and it might have been a
case of "Just sees what he wants to see") led me to think that that there
was no problem with commercial development - after all, Oracle development
is never anything but commercial. However, the free license only extended to
development and not to deployment i.e. if you wanted to roll the developed
code out, then the commercial end user had to have an Oracle license

Man from Oracle comes up, measures the depth of your carpet, figures how
much they can screw you for, picks you up and shakes you for whatever other
loose change there might be, and then gives you a price.

Where does the above algorithm get you ?
But seriously, there is an Oracle office in Blackrock - perhaps a quick call
there might be in order, if you don't agree with my conclusions above re the
license.
