Hi All,
I've read the ppp HowTo re; pppd authenticating against NT RAS
servers - protocol is MS chap 80 & pppd has to be recompiled
after editing makefile to support MS chap. In recent (ish) distros
(rh & SuSE 6.2) the makefile has this option uncommented,
so I am assuming it is compiled in by default now ?
Is it worth recompiling to find out ?
Has anyone successfully got pppd to authenticate against Nt4 RAS
using either plain or encrypted passwords on the NT side ?
- the encryption part was in the "suck it and see" catagory last time I
checked.
Reason ; I need to get laptop to connect via IR to Nokia e.g 6110 phone
to dial in to NT RAS . If I can't do this on Linux It'll be another 2
win2000
licenses for Bill :(((
(oh, and I have until about Thurs to do it incl. purchasing the phone
:))
The last time I tried this I spent an evening making Long-Distance calls
while debugging pppd & eventually locked the account... so
consider this mail a feasability study...
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andrew Kemmy
.sig left as an exercise ;)
