I got xdmcp access working alright yesterday on our wee test machine.
It was ipchains after all (as Liam pointed out it might be). RH 7.1 sets
these up as default (which is good), and all I needed to do was add this
line to /etc/sysconfig/ipchains and reload the rules:
-A input -s 192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 177 -p udp -i eth0 -j ACCEPT
