hi,
sendmail takes ages to start up. I have looked at the logs and this is a
snippet of what it says:

The IP addresses for both these machines is listed in /etc/hosts
Netscape Messenger can get my emails from ie-cor-mail01 without problem.
When i fool around with sendmail in linuxconf, and it comes to the stage where
i have to activate the changes, i get the error:
The command
/etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S80sendmail restart
is taking longer than exepected to complete.
Please take action....
This is my basic sendmail config in linuxconf:
Present your system as: jamcooper <my login id>
Accept email for att.cmg.nl: unchecked
Mail server: ie-cor-mail01
mail gateway: localhost
mail gateway protocol: smtp
Anyone have any idea what is wrong? Sorry for the length! The IT guys here
know sweet F.A about linux.
