[ILUG] gnome stability under Redhat 7.1

Has anyone else noticed that Gnome seems to be very unstable under Redhat
7.1?

I have it installed on a few machines, and with varying degrees, they all
seem to be having problems with the standard install of Gnome. One machine
even has the gnome terminal crashing when you try to start it up.

Until now, if we needed X access, we just switched to KDE and that's been
fine. However I now have a program that has issues with KDE and needs Gnome
to run happily... so I'm in a bit of a dilemma.

I don't really have the time to install a whole new version of Gnome from
source, and I don't see any rpm updates from Redhat. I had a quick go at
installing Gnome 1.4 from Redhat's rawhide, but there are too many
dependencies to worry about.

Does anyone have an ideas, or has anyone come across this before? Is it
actually Gnome, or something else that has got corrupted?

The install I chose on the machines was "everything" because we mess around
with so much these days. Could this have caused a problem, i.e. something
conflicting with the base install of Gnome?

Any ideas would be gratefully received ;-)

Tim
