OK guys, I setup one of my external storage units last night to check they
actually work. It turns out that the drives are varying in capacity... (and
Anyway, I have three hot-plug SCSI 3 2GB drives that I would like to make a
RAID 5 out of, or a RAID 1 with an online spare.
The other drives are varying capacity from 4.0 - 9.1GB capacity so they will
be configured as JBOD's - Just a bunch of disks - I feel your pain :)
Anyroads, has anyone tried software RAID in linux? What filesystem should I
go for? And what kind of performance do you get?
