[ILUG] Japanese support

If I want to display Japanese characters on a Gnome terminal, how do I go
about doing it?

I have a problem when passing a HTML page through "cat" that has Japanese
characters in it. Basically it will mess up the terminal; Similar to what
happens if you try and view a binary file sometimes.

I do not want to change my language to Japanese, just view the non "english"
characters properly, or at least stop them from corrupting my terminal.

I believe I have the Japanese locale already installed.

Thanks,

Tim
