Yeah. Everything about it annoys me, though - each of the words `computer',
`driving' and `licence' makes me grind my teeth in anger. `Computer'
because it's only about windows, word and excel (AIUI, in practice
at least), `driving' and `licence' because it isn't a darn licence, it's
got nothing to do with driving - it wants people to think that it has
some legitimacy, that folk without this `computer driving licence'
shouldn't be allowed on the Information Superhighway. What if they
get pulled over by the Super Highway Patrol and they don't have their
licence and registration? Aaaargh. Every possible comparison that one
could make with driving is so wrong. It annoys on sooo many levels.
How long before we see some politician or tabloid bemoan the fact that
many users of the Information Superhighway[0] aren't properly licensed
or insured and that Something Must Be Done. Grrrr.
Sorry for ranting...
Wesley.
[0] This phrase annoys me a lot too. That's why I used it.
