The CPU is the bottleneck!? Disk accesses take an eternity (well, to be more
correct, seeking the head to the right track takes ages, the actual data
transfer can sometimes be comparable to RAM speeds) in terms of CPU cycles.
Whole programs can be executed in the time it takes to access a disk.
