My email address should be declan at nuvotem.com , but since my machine has the hostname declan, sendmail keeps specifying my email address as declan at declan.nuvotem.com
Is there some way I can get sendmail to force my sender address as nuvotem.com instead of declan.nuvotem.com, or Am I missing the point ?
Also, Today my fetchmail has been receiving tha same messages from the local mailserver (pop3) repeatedly.
I had a look in the mdaemon log files, and it seems as if it sending and deleting the mails from the server one by one, but the at the end deicdes there are 0 bytes transferred !
Accepting POP connection from [192.168.0.100]
+OK nuvotem.com POP service ready using Mdaemon v3.0.4 R
USER (my pop user name)
+OK (my pop user name)...Recipient ok
+OK (my pop name) at domain nuvotem.com's mailbox has 48 total messages (188532 octets)
+OK 48 188532
+OK 48 188532
...... etc etc
TOP 1 99999999
Sending TOP of message 1 (unbuffered operation, increase latency setting if remote side can't keep up)...
Received: from ... blah blah blah blah..
... the whole message source
+OK message 1 deleted
TOP 2 99999999
Sending TOP of message 2 .... etc etc up to
+OK message 33 deleted
POP session complete, 0 bytes transferred
I've never seen the whole message source in the log file before, but all other machines are using win98 and oe5
Any suggestions .. is it something to do with the 'latency' ?
