[ILUG] Possible use to someone

I have a Dell machine here in work which uses a i810 audio card. This is
pretty badly supported on Linux unfortunatly as most apps cannot output at
48000KHz.

After much hammering, I found that if you run esd as "esd -r 48000", and
run programs with esddsp, many apps will work. Specifically things like
aviplay (for them Stargate episodes ;) ) will be able to play sound at a
proper speed

Not sure how this could be fixed at a kernel level at all.
