I believe what my beloved wife and sweetheart had in mind is that
Exim can read Mailman's list definitions directly (no need to edit
/etc/aliases) and is more thrifty with file handles and process
spawnng than other MTAs, because of some nice features that permit close
integration.

However, Mailman performance is almost always bottlenecked by the rather
deficient Pipermail archiver. Retrofit MHonArc, and you'll get much
faster throughput.
