Thanks Fergal,

    I gave that a shot but I think that BIOS has to read an MBR or
something before control is handed over to LILO. A careful read through
man fdisk, I suppose! Either that or get myself a new HD and build a new
Linux from scratch . I wonder whats the best distro at the moment....
