Don't a lot of planes have a door that leads directly into the cabin making
it possible to seal it off by placing a concrete or metal barier in the way
(the weight doesn't matter the plane already weighs at least 250 tonnes)
but
What would happen then if one of the pilots was seriously ill and had to be
taken out of the cockpit for first aid,
also
what would happen if there was a fire in the cockpit and they ran out of
extinguishers
