Hmm.. not likely to happen. It seems to happen a lot on lists with some
very talented people.

However, as long as what they do is good, where's the problem?
Theo is hardly the world's friendliest person if you get on the wrong
side of him, but he does good work. DJB, RMS, ESR can all be
rude/painful to talk to.

Some people put it down to a lack of interpersonal skills (computers
don't complaing if you swear at them), and some people get upset. I try
to ignore the most inflammatory stuff.

It also seems to come back to a difference in ideologies.

this isn't a troll.
I've generally found linux mailing lists to be helpful. To a fault. They
help everyone, always, and answer any questions, no matter how OT.

BSD lists however tend to have a much blunter system.
"FAQ"
"RTFM"

stops a lot of silly OT bickering about stuff, but makes people who're
not used to that more resentful (even though they may be learning a lot
more because of it).
