# Have you tried running "killev", if you've run oaf-slay it probably
# won't do anything as oaf is the basis for all the bonobo stuff.

yes I have tried killev, and even *gasp* rebooting - to ensure there
were no locked files getting in my way.
# Perhaps use red-carpet's Verify Packages to ensure you have everythin
# you need. It'll check conflicts etc and advice if anything should be
# removed.

I did this just now - and redcarpet has told me that the package database
is valid.

# Wait a minute, is that a "snapshot", as in not the Beta release. If it
# is then chances are you might not be alone, try logging into
# monkey talk
# and seeing if anyone else has eXPerienced the problem. I've often had
# weird problems using the snapshots which went away with the
# next nightly build or be rolling back to a previous build.

sounds like a good idea - I'll try that. Thanks Glen.
