Doesn't effect me, I do software development :) Now project deadlines effect

Hmm, Administration as in setting up a Linux server to serve windows
clients, or all Linux environment, or just general use of the operating
system ?

Expert opinion !!?? I like that ! I'm posting this to the ILUG mailing list
as there are probably a few people there who have previously put together
similar courses. You should join also, it's free and will prove to be a very
worthwhile resource while on your way to learning Linux.

Opinions will differ greatly on this one. Ehm let's see, start with
installation. Then where to find applications etc. on the net. Download a
few of these, maybe snort or such and install them. If you decide to go with
Redhat teach them about RPMs. Either way teach them how to use tar and how
to compile applications from source. Configure sendmail, teach them how to
use email thereafter. Set up a print server maybe. Alot of this will depend
on your personal interest . . . You should cover things like adding and
managing users, using XWindows, using system configuration apps -- linuxconf
and the like. After that maybe install and use StarOffice, that will look
kinda familiar to them :) Or set up Apache and write a webpage and such.
Hmmm then there's security ... 3 days huh ?
