you might also want to adjust the way you reply to messages. Relying
on what I presume is Outlook's colouring of your replies differently
from what you're citing has no effect on, for example, my monochrome
terminal session, the net result being that I end up hunting around
in the email to find out what the heck you're saying. If you must
use something that uses the "-- Original Message Follows --" style
of citation, put your new text above it, and then ask yourself if
you need to cite the text in the first place.
Again, this is a matter of learning acceptable local ettiquette when
you participate in a community.
