he get's as far as init .. did anyone read his post?
normally if init messes up I'd blame init.. but I have an RH6.2 system
running 2.4.10 on my desk at work and it boots finest... and I've only
updated modutils on it...
other things to check are modutils is working and that UNIX domain sockets
are in kernel.. they might work a module but I've had issues with them
before..
also nuke mv /lib/modules/2.4.X beofre make modules_install to avoid old
ones confusing the issue.. or also add -mykernel to EXTRAVERSION in
Makefile.
