It's sendmail. Fetchmail calls sendmail to deliver the message to
localhost. I've had this problem before with exim. I think it's
something to do with /etc/resolv.conf, but I'm not sure.
Have a look at resolv.conf, and see whether localhost 127.0.0.1
is in there.
