Hehe. I've noticed. Right, goodbye ACPI. If I'm not mistaken, I had to
specify "acpi=noidle" to not make my Duron run like a 386. ACPI bad.
APM good. Or at least less bad ;)

I've found that turning off ALL peripheral devices (monitor and modem,
in my case) before the computer simply leaves it on when running
shutdown. Leave the monitor or modem on, and the computer shuts down
properly at /sbin/halt.

If ACPI is so bad, I'm not touching it with a 100' pole hereafter.
