What I want to do is use tar to do some backups.
Since I'm using a 2.2 kernel I have the 2G file limit.
I have search the web for this but can't see any mention of exactly what
I mention below.
Is there any way to tell tar to output say <prefix>1.tar, <prefix>2.tar
... prefix<n>.tar
I know tar can support multiple volumes and that I could supply multiple
-f options and it would go through all the -f options.
But I would rather a solution which would allow me to supply the prefix
option and tar would then go and create as many 2G files as need to
complete the backup.
