It could be that most of the software is expecting the videodev/i2c
stuff to be in modules. Also you have to run MAKEDEV so that /dev/video
exists in /dev/. I'm using the dvb drivers from Linuxtv.org for
satellite stuff and I think I ran across a similar problem. Some of it
was solved by downloading and compiling the BT drivers for the videocard
and running the MAKEDEV included with that package. I'll reply in a more
coherent manner later as I am busy aligning a satellite dish at the
moment.
